Rachael Hartman

In 2008, I experienced an undeniable call from God to write and publish for the Kingdom. I had just started my Master’s degree and had no idea when I would find the time to write a book! But God found the time and His timing is perfect!

Angel: The True Story of an Undeserved ChanceIn July 2012, I began writing my first book, Angel: The True Story of an Undeserved Chance. The book shares Angel Cortello’s testimony story. Angel had an amazing testimony of deliverance, and I had a desire to write a book for the Lord. Eleven months later, June 2013, we had the book in hand and I had officially established Our Written Lives.

CalledToWrite-ChosenToPublish copyThrough the next year, I began working with independent authors to publish their books. I wanted to provide a financially feasible opportunity for authors to access professional publishing services and full distribution options. In the process, I wrote a short book, Called to Write Chosen to Publish, which offers 20 inspirational thoughts for Christian writers, and shares the story of my personal call to write and publish.

Screen Shot 2016-08-15 at 9.26.42 PMI recently finished my third book, Facing Myself: An Introspective Look at Cosmetic Surgery. I weave my personal story throughout the book as I share what I’ve learned, along with research, history, and statistics. I also offer discussion questions at the end of each chapter. If you or someone you love are considering cosmetic surgery, this book can give insight, and provide tools to make a well-rounded, mature decision about your body. If you are like me and have already undergone cosmetic surgery, this book can assist you as you process the experience.

As I look back over my life, I can see the wonderful plan God has had all along. I give God all the glory for Our Written Lives and all the wonderful things He has yet to accomplish.
