About the Author: Russ Lanier was born and raised in Statesboro, Georgia. He is a 1985 graduate of Georgia Southern University and is a certified public accountant and partner in a local accounting firm. Russ is married to Joy Graham Lanier of Springfield, Georgia. Russ and Joy have one daughter, Ashlyn. He enjoys being involved in church, acting in local theater productions, and performing throughout the Southeast as a member of an Elvis tribute band. His greatest passion is watching his daughter Ashlyn light up the stage as a dancer. Russ was inspired to write when he realized how much love was shared in the simple act of reading a book to a child.

Russ is an active member in many facets of the Statesboro community. He has served on the board of directors and as treasurer of numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Statesboro Rotary Club, the Statesboro Mid Day Optimist Club, United Way of Southeast Georgia, the Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce, Forest Heights Country Club, and the Statesboro Arts Council. He has also served as the Finance Chair of the Statesboro First United Methodist Church, and as President of the Statesboro Mid Day Optimist Club and of the Statesboro Sigma Chi Alumni Association.
